Sweet sixteen and never been kissed . . .
That’s Aurora Skye’s big secret. And the way she wants it to stay. She’s not going to give away her first kiss to just anyone. Busy dodging suitors and matchmaking for her best friends, Aurora (not so) patiently awaits her prince.
But everything changes when Aurora is coerced into a lead role in the school production of Much Ado about Nothing. Which means she’ll have to lock lips with her co-star Hayden Paris—the smart and funny boy next door who also happens to be the bane of her existence, always around to see her at her worst.

Now Aurora is more determined than ever to have her first kiss with the one who’s truly worthy of it. But first she’ll have to figure out just who that person is.

Romantic and funny, Tara Eglington's How to Keep a Boy from Kissing You is a feel-good tale of finding love where you least expect it.

**Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Griffin for granting me access to this title in exchange for an honest review.

I must say that this book was not really for me, but I can definitely see why others would love it, especially teenagers. It has all the elements of a successful YA Contemporary read: quick, witty, funny, cutesy, tons of drama, and of course the ever present teenage relationship issues.

What I really did not like was how repetitive it was. Aurora was very adamant about not getting kissed until it was from someone who deserved her. The frustrating thing was, he was right in front of her the entire time and she was too stubborn to see him! You would think as someone who wants to write a teenage self help relationship book, that she would know the signs when they were literally staring her in the face. Her friends weren't much help either.

Jelena was the worst out of the bunch. She was constantly rude and mean to others because she thought herself superior to everyone around her. I do not know how Aurora and the others stayed friends with her. She was the embodiment of your typical high school mean girl. Cassie, Lindsay, and Sara were all right, but they were also clueless to the clues in front of Aurora because they were wrapped up in their own relationship drama.

Hayden was surprisingly the best character from the book. Yes, he was the hot guy next door, but he was super sweet and considerate. Aurora was foolish from the get go for thinking he had it out for her.

There were definitely a lot of eye roll moments, like when Aurora was trying to figure out who her secret admirer was and it was so easy. They all made it super difficult, even though someone who was not close to them could have seen it from a mile away.

Overall I think this was a fun, quick read but repetitive elements, crappy friends, and obvious ending brought down the rating for me.

I think teenagers looking for a lighthearted high school romance will enjoy this one.
